mE Moda News- April 2012

Hello lovely followers of my blog.. finally blog post #2 is here :) Peace and blessings to you all.

To begin, I'd like to give a big shout out to all the mE Moda friends who are either photographers, ladies that modeled mE garments, bloggers, or fellow business owners. Whether it is working on photo shoots, spreading the word, or publishing reviews, I thank you for your time and effort in working with me to benefit the community. You can see a list (and links) of some of the mE Moda friends and what they do at this page.  I have a couple more friends but they don't have websites yet so I will be updating the list as the information comes along.

Second, don't forget the mE Moda "CRAZY SALE" is going on right now and PRICES ARE CRAZY LOW! Take advantage and if you don't see anything that "clicks" for you, please tell your friends that might be interested so that they can have a chance to take advantage of the low prices.

Read on in this post to learn more about:

  • The first released mE Moda VIDEO on YOUTUBE.com
  • Maxi Dress Review by LoveHFW
  • To see PICTURES of ME or rather mE :) and some of my favorite ways to wear my scarf with maxi dresses in general, as well as with other clothes.

So, if you haven't checked out the mE Maxi Dress review by LoveHFW, click here to read it now.  At the end of the review you'll find the first released mE Moda video which you can also view below.

This video addresses the topic: How to Cover Your Chest.  I decided to create this video after speaking to one of my customers.  She had a concern with the style of the top of the mE Maxi Dress being a bit fitted at the chest.  To be honest, I tried to keep the maxi dress as close to a "regular" maxi dress as possible (that you would find anyone wearing on the street)--after all it is a Maxi Dress! Many of us have been wearing them and have had to wear "body" shirts under them as well. I, personally, do not like the tight look nor the feel of a body shirt ON ME (although you will catch me wearing one when needed) nor the layering involved to wear a maxi dress w/out sleeves (especially in hot weather).  Sometimes the straps are so annoying or there aren't any straps and you have to keep pulling your body shirt down and your maxi dress up LOL. What a pain! So I made the top of the mE Maxi dress with a look similar to the maxi dresses you find in the stores commonly, added sleeves that are NOT TIGHT, and had them produced in TALL & SHORT sizes to accommodate all the sisters out there that can't find a dress that's long enough or can't find a dress that's short enough! Maybe this is a good time for me to apologize to all the women that may have had to shorten a TALL size :) Also, for me personally, whenever I wear a maxi dress, I always use a style tactic with my head scarf that would give me draping in the front-I am just more comfortable with that extra coverage. Hence the video :) Here are some pictures of me wearing maxi dresses in the past and also pictures of me wearing other things with my scarf draped down. You will notice in them some of the hijab styles that are illustrated in the video. (Well I don't have pictures of others to show you so the best I can do is share with you my own personal pictures, even though it feels a bit awkward! Hope they serve the purpose well.)

Wearing a long rectangular scarf at a MSA Eid Reception in Grenada (West Indies/Caribbean not Spain :) ).

Square scarf look from the video. With hubby at my friend's wedding reception in Grenada.

Wearing the black mE Moda Handkerchief shirt here w my scarf draping down.
With my younger sister Heba and her son (in green) and my 2 kiddos, again in Grenada.
Sis has her scarf draped down too.

Again, wearing a square scarf as illustrated in the video and again with my sister Heba, who is again also wearing her scarf w/ some draping in the front :)

Not a great picture of me but shows one of the styles in the video and I'm wearing my "Islamic" swim suit here.  I have mixed feelings about the swim suit (but that's a whole other discussion I don't want to get into) and hope to produce one to my liking one day iA.
My daughter wasn't in the mood for a picture I guess.

Yes, I know most of these pictures are old. I'll work on capturing some more recent ones.  There is one recent one that I can share with you--you will surely recognize this one from the end of my video.

Now it's your turn. What are your favorite ways to wear your scarf, head scarf or neck scarf, it's all good :)

Thanks for following my blog and for getting this far down in my post :) Have a wonderful night.

Peace and blessings to all.

Love

First Blog Post

Hello/Peace/Salam!

I'm Marwa from mE Moda! I'll be using this blog to give some tips on how to accessorize/customize some of the mE Moda garments, to suit your lifestyle.  I'll also be posting videos once in a while to show how I personally wear things, as well as some other options. Your comments, questions, requests, and recommendations are appreciated and will serve to help me get the feedback I need to continue to improve the designs to better suit your lifestyle--in fashion, comfort, and functionality.

I'll also tell you about other bloggers that are blogging about mE Moda as well as some of their other interesting posts.  I love to encourage others in their work--whether it be photography, blogging, fashion, etc.  So you'll often see me post about others in these related areas.

Thank You--I look forward to many blogging days :)
